Corpo e movimento na Educação Infantil: possibilidades e limites para a livre expressão da criança

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between body and movement, focusing on the possibilities and limits of children's free expression in Early Childhood Education. We seek to understand how children react in interactions with their peers during routines and pedagogical practices at day care centers and CMEI. The parameter is the relationship between body and movement with the organization of space, the latter becoming a disciplining or integrating element; with school time organized in contrast to the desires and needs of children who see themselves between the control and the transgression of routines, as well as the autonomy and mobility that present a construction and organization located between the opposites of freedom and limits of movements and actions of children. The discussions start from the new social studies of childhood, proposing an interdisciplinary reflection articulated to the theoretical contributions that invest in the reflection about the educational processes of the body that has been configured in school institutions, expanding the approach we discuss the development in a sociocultural perspective establishing a dialogue with the concepts of experience present in the work of Walter Benjamin and Jorge Larrosa. The data were constructed from videographic recordings that portray pedagogical activities in the day-to-day life of the nursery and CMEI and semi-structured interviews with the teachers I. The locus of the research are institutions of Early Childhood Education of the Municipal Network of Recife. The study reveals an overlapping relationship between the free expression of the body and its movement with space, time, mobility and autonomy, as well as discussing perceptions that may favor new experiences and practices in Early Childhood Education.
