A Utilização de jogos concretos na aprendizagem de indução finita no ensino superior

Abstract

In this study we analyze the contribution of the use of games in mathematical learning of the first principle of finite induction of undergraduates in mathematics. For this study, we found difficulties in learning some higher-level mathematical content, including finite induction. Therefore, we consider this research relevant to gaming, since it was a reality that had been yielding positive results in students of basic education, and also the possibilities of using an important tool to help teachers and students in the teaching process and learning in higher education. The theoretical approach was taken to a reflection on the learning theory of David Ausubel meaningful and finite induction. The research was carried out according to the concepts of the methodology exploratory and descriptive, with the field of research the Faculty of Teacher Education Goiana, 15 students of the 4th period of the degree in mathematics who were attending the course in number theory. We did a comparison between the results obtained before and after activities with games. The games were: Tower of Hanoi, leap frog and Chinese rings. Their results showed an improvement in student performance after the use of games. Most, after the end of the study, said it's possible, finding it easier and interesting learning in higher education with the use of mathematical games.
