Abstract: The expansion of the consumption of ophthalmic lenses in Brazil in recent decades has also triggered potential environmental impacts due to the disposal of waste from their processing, which consists of shavings from the surfacing and cutting of ophthalmic lenses, and lenses not approved in quality control. Its materials are, more often, composed of polymeric origin which, being a material that decomposes slowly when discarded, causes its presence in large quantities both in landfills and in nature. The expansion of the civil construction industry resulted in the growth of environmental damages inherent to its activities, direct and indirect, especially those caused by the demand for sand extraction, mainly used in the production of concrete, related to damages such as emissions into the atmosphere, water and land, as well as the consumption of non-renewable resources. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the possibility of incorporating polymeric waste from lens processing in the production of concrete, in partial replacement of fine aggregate. Two types of waste were collected in an optical laboratory located in Recife/PE, polycarbonate and resin. The materials were submitted to infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) where a possible presence of alcohols/phenols and carboxylic acid was observed in the polycarbonate and resin residues, respectively. The moisture content and unit mass of both were also determined to calculate the concrete mix. Through a dosage study, a standard mix was determined, deriving from it the other mixes, constituted by the volumetric replacement of sand in the contents of 2, 6 and 10% for each type of waste. Workability, compressive strength, bending tensile strength, water absorption, void index and specific mass were analyzed. Altogether, 178 samples were experimented. A reduction in the consistency of the concrete in the mixes with residue incorporation was observed, being necessary the addition of water to reach the established abatement. The results obtained would enable the use of this concrete in concrete pavements, permeable pavements, industrial floors, cell galleries and structures in environments of class III of environmental aggressiveness.

Abstract: Construction and Demolition Waste (RCD) is one of the major urban problems today, since they are generated in significant volumes, and most of the time have an inadequate final destination, triggering a series of environmental, social and economic impacts. Thus, it is essential that CDW management is efficient and capable of minimizing the negative effects of activities in the construction sector. Estimating the generation and composition of CDW plays an important role in developing appropriate and effective approaches to managing these. Thus, the present research aims to establish a rate of generation of cement waste and ceramic bricks for informal buildings and to assess the impacts resulting from the irregular deposition of CDW in areas of socio-environmental vulnerability. For this, the methodology comprised the collection of data and information, on-site visits, application of forms, mapping and photographic records. The data obtained were compiled into maps and graphs that were later discussed and analyzed. The study was based on 5 areas belonging to the Political Administrative Region (RPA3) - where the mapping of points of irregular deposition of CDW was carried out through the survey of geographic coordinates and the assessment of the impacts associated with the irregular disposition of CDW, using the methodology called Leopold's Matrix. To estimate the generation of cement and ceramic brick residues in informal works, a model based on the principle of material balance was used, which quantifies the generation of residues per constructed area. Three types of footprints were also developed, showing the amount of cement and red ceramics incorporated in the works. It was found 85 points of irregular deposition of CDW, distributed in the 5 studied areas. The assessment of environmental impacts showed that the environment most impacted by the irregular deposition of CDW is the anthropic environment, which corresponds to 47% of the total impacts. The estimation of cement and ceramic brick waste generation rates in informal works allowed reaching a generation rate per built area of 6.3 kg/m2. Finally, the cement footprint in the analyzed works ranged from -21.2% (Yellow Footprint) to 28.5% (Red Footprint), on the other hand, the brick footprint ranged from -23.8% (Yellow Footprint) at 40% (Red Footprint). The analysis carried out in this research shows the problem of CDW coming from informal constructions, in hill areas in the city of Recife-PE, serving as a basis for improving the management of these wastes and subsidizing public policies that enable the inclusion of preventive and in the urban planning of these areas.

Abstract: Sustainable Logistics Management Plans are planning tools that provide the agency or entity with the establishment of sustainability practices and rationalization of expenses and processes in public administration. These are regulated from Decree 7,746 of June 5, 2012 and Normative Instruction No. 10 of the Secretariat for Logistics and Information Technology - Ministry of Planning and Management Budget of November 12, which institutes plans within the scope of Public Administration Federal. In this way, the sustainable actions applied in the socio-environmental management of federal public bodies were standardized. With that, the institutions demanded a more efficient management and that met the economic restrictions for each sector. The objective of this study is to understand the impact of socio-environmental management in an institutional collaborative network on Sustainable Logistics Plans based on the case study of the Ecos de Pernambuco Committee, seeking to establish indicators that represent the sustainability of the various institutional activities. This time, the research is organized in three chapters with the structuring of articles, derived from the studies. In view of the results presented, it is hoped that the present paper may assist in the understanding of certain decisions that are evaluated as sustainability actions for management, aiming at the improvement of the public service in the systemic direction focused on sustainable practices. With this, it is hoped that the present writing can assist in the understanding of certain decisions that evaluate as sustainability actions for management, aiming at the improvement of public service in the systemic direction focused on sustainable practices.

Abstract: One of the main threats to sustainability in civil construction is waste. In the Brazil, sectorial programs and policies for civil construction were developed, with the objective of encouraging their modernization and sustainability. Such incentives occur mainly within the scope of the construction of social housing, currently driven by the federal government program Programa Casa Verde e Amarela (PCVA). In these works, structural masonry is widely used due to repetition of layout, reduction of waste and proves to be a sustainable alternative when well designed and executed. Therefore, the master's research had as main objective to evaluate the performance of Civil Construction enterprises in terms of the waste of blocks for masonry in housing construction sites in the Agreste region of the state of Pernambuco and to develop a layout of a sustainable proposal to reduce waste from this process. The structuring of the contents explored was in the form of chapters, whose epistemological sequence supports the subsequent stages and the global development of the research. Initially, Public Policies policies that have a perspective of a sustainable civil construction were analyzed, and that are related to the housing issue in Brazil for the elaboration of recommendations. From this, the research methodology adopted consisted of the multiple case study composed of three construction sites. Qualitative approaches were used, for field analysis and document analysis, and quantitative approaches, in the elaboration of the Morant Effectiveness Index (IEM). Construction site A has a large size and is located in the municipality of Caruaru. Construction sites B and C are located in the municipality of Santa Cruz do Capibaribe and are medium-sized. It was possible to verify that the most frequent waste categories in the works: excess stock, defective production and unnecessary movement. The main causes of this waste are: lack of layout for the service front at the work, inadequate handling of materials, and lack of planning in the acquisition of materials and stock management. The EMI for evaluating the effectiveness regarding the use of bricks for masonry were: 92.83% in construction site A , 91.31% in construction site B and 87.15% in construction site C. In the case of loss rates, the results were 6.68% in construction site A, 8.68% in construction site B and 10.79% in construction site C. Therefore, the results highlighted the need to apply measures focused on leaner construction and solid waste management as a strategy for sustainability in the face of the competitive market that demands efficient housing projects.
